Staff Council
In this video you will learn about the UMG Staff Council.
The Staff Council (Personalrat - PR), is the legal representative of all UMG employees, regardless of profession, gender, nationality, religion or trade union affiliation. It is elected by the employees every four years (for a 4-year term). Its work is based on the Lower Saxony Staff Representation Act, which stipulates the matters in which the Staff Council must be involved, for example personnel measures such as recruitment or wage group classification of employees, as well as regulations on working hours, occupational health and safety and many other matters.
In accordance with the total number of 8000 UMG employees with voting rights, the Staff Council has 23 members. Eleven of these are freed from their "normal" duties, i.e. they work in the Staff Council office, which is situated in the office container behind the patient ward building (Bettenhaus) number 2. You can visit us during your working hours for advice on practically every matter affecting your working life.
